On Saturday June 22nd we will be having a skills clinic from 9:00-3:00. Open to all incoming 9th-12th graders interested in playing Volleyball at Calhoun High School this coming season. Bring your favorite snack, small lunch and your water bottle for breaks.  Coach Matt Erb will provide animal crackers as well as skill base instruction to get a jump on our season). Gym shoes and knee pads are a plus. Calhoun County Middle School Volleyball will be holding our volleyball camp on July 15-17th 4-6pm in middle school gym it is open to all 6-8th graders interested in playing volleyball this coming season. 5th Grade students were awarded certificates of excellence for their hard work in certain subjects. Mrs. Summers awarded ELA students: Allie Frederick, Silas Cunningham, and Parker Hoskins. Mrs. Mace awarded Math students: Alexandria Askew-Jarvis, Parker Hoskins, Kallah Reip, and Allie Frederick. Science students were also awarded. They are: Jason Powell, Bentley Snodgress, and Zaden Cadle. Social Studies students awarded were: Jaelyn McCumbers, Alex King, and Evan Griffin.

The West Virginia Department of Education is honored to announce the 2024 Golden Horseshoe winners for Calhoun County. Since 1931, students have been honored as knights of the Golden Horseshoe having demonstrated exceptional knowledge of West Virginia history on the state-administered exam. This year, Jasmyne Tingler, & Ryleigh Crislip-Garrett will join the ranks of WV citizens who have won this prestigious award. These ladies will have an opportunity to be recognized at the Golden Horseshoe ceremony on June 11, 2024, at the West Virginia Culture Center in Charleston, WV.
