We are still accepting registration forms for our summer camps.
For students failing classes, credits can be earned by taking credit recovery programing.
We still have 5 open slots for students wanting to take Driver’s Education.
Summer Camps for high school include the following:
Week 1 - Music, drama Theater, Hunter Safety
Week 2- Computer Science, Chemistry, Emergency Services
Week 3 - Game of life, Culinary, Hunters Safety,
Week 4 - Outdoor Adventure, Latin American Culture
Week 5 - STEM camp, Virtual Reality,
Week 6 - Art camp, Automotive Camp.

Save the Children is conducting community surveys to gain insight into future programming and support needs. These surveys are brief, requiring less than ten minutes. The higher the participation rate, the more voices are heard. Accurate data will better position us to deliver community specific support.

Device Collection for 5th - 11th grade continues tomorrow. If you have not yet turned in your bookbag, device, and charger, please plan to do this tomorrow, May 19th. Any virtual students that have a school issued laptop will need to bring those tomorrow May 19th and the 20th. The device and charger must be placed in the school issued bookbag along with any other technology on loan from the school. Parents and students will be monetarily responsible for any missing, not returned items, and or damaged items. Replacement charges for a computer are $600, a charger is $50, and a bookbag is $65. The Calhoun Clarion had two competitions this past week. One was to guess the number of candies in a jar, and the other was a Valentine's Day Door Decoration Contest.
We are excited to announce that Mrs. Wendy Batton won the candy jar with a guess of 782. She was closest to the actual amount of 812.
The winners of the door contest were Miss Walburn's homeroom and Mr. Ray's homeroom. Honorable mention were Miss Holly Wilson's homeroom and Mrs. Craddock's homeroom.
The Calhoun Clarion is back in publication after many years. Newspaper class is a high school elective. We have been working hard to make our school newspaper something our staff and students look forward to purchasing. We are currently working on our 9th edition and plan to start posting some of our articles and photos to broaden our audience.
Congratulations to the following winners for Calhoun County Young Writers Fair. The judges loved the stories and wished there was more to read, another chapter perhaps? The Writers were able to help the judges visualize and feel the story. The students did not make their job easy. The Winners will have their entries submitted to the State Young Writers competitions.
