We partnered with Calhoun Banks today to share a Reality Check! At the beginning of the program, students received a folder with all of the information needed to complete the program. Students were given an occupation, salary, marital status, and children. They had to learn to prioritize and build a life that was within their means by visiting various centers.

College & Career Rush Week
January 17-20
Students will explore various colleges and careers throughout the week! We will have guest speakers throughout the week from the unions, military, and colleges.
We would like to invite the community to dress up with us and post your pictures.
There will be a focus on helping our Seniors complete their college applications, scholarships, and financial aid. Our goal is to help at least 75% of our Seniors to complete their FAFSA!
The week will end with the winning AA getting the chance to Slime our dear Mr. Gaul in front of the student body. That’s top secret though!

Folks,
Report cards are coming home today from CMHS. However, there was a glitch when the data pulled from "livegrades" and some grades did not pull. We will address the issue and once corrected, will re-print grade cards next week.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the school.
David Gaul

Please be aware that Bus 14 is running about 20 late due to a mechanical issue with the bus.

Due to last minute scheduling conflicts, the masquerade ball has been postponed!

Calhoun students had the opportunity to register for dual classes with Glenville State University’s, Rachel Clutter today. This gives our Red Devils the opportunity to earn college credits while still in high school.

CMHS Christmas Dinner. Please remember to turn in your lunch form.

We would like to invite everyone to come join us at the Calhoun Middle/High School on December 20th from 4pm-6pm in the commons area for some Christmas magic. Bring your little or big ones to come see Santa and tell him what they would like this year for Christmas. Make sure to wear your comfiest pajamas and bring an empty belly so that you can thoroughly enjoy some pancakes, crepes and hot chocolate. Enjoy some live music, while decorating an ornament for your tree.
We will also be handing out books, basic needs supplies and have vendors set up as well. We look forward to seeing everyone with smiling faces and spreading Christmas cheer.
Sponsored by Calhoun County Schools, Save the Children (Early Steps and VROOM), Communities In School, 21st Century Community Learning Center - ASPIRE, Student Services and Title I.

Out of 10 bands, Calhoun placed 2nd overall in Class D
Ripley’s Viking Fest

The band is still yet very young, a third of our instrumentalists are still in middle school. We expect the number of instrumentalists to grow due to our prospering middle school band class. With a growing band comes the need for expanded instrumentation. Our current stock of aged tenor/baritone saxes, horns, baritones, and tubas poses some issues in reliability, which is why the band is currently raising funds to purchase new/newer and more reliable instruments.
Our bingo on Saturday 10-29-22 was a huge success! We would like to sincerely thank those who donated items to make the bingo possible. Donations were received in overwhelming quantities spilling into the day of the bingo itself.
We want to extend our gratitude to the multitude of community members who have reached out to donate, attend booster meetings, promote the band on social media, make signs, make treat/snack bags, and go out of your way to support our students! Your efforts have made a world of difference for the band students!

The Calhoun High School Student Council is hosting a Veteran's Day Assembly on Friday, November 18thth, with dinner to follow. We are requesting that area churches help supply dinner for the veterans in attendance. If your church is able or interested, please contact Jaelyn Jett at jrjett1@stu.k12.wv.us. Thank you!

Mia Houchin and Cameron Jarvis attended the BIG Workshop at Marietta College to pursue their interest in entrepreneurship. Thank you, Shelia Burch for supporting our Red Devils! Our Calhoun students represented their home county well.
