Isaiah Boggs, of Orma, WV, is the son of Steve and Paula Boggs. He has been accepted to Marietta College, Marshall University, Glenville State University, and Fairmont State University. He plans to major in Education. He was a four-year member of the Calhoun varsity wrestling team and senior team captain. In his senior season, he was the AA/A Region IV Runner-up in the 126# weight class and a West Virginia State Wrestling Tournament Qualifier. His 5-year plan includes graduating from college and beginning his life as a history teacher.


Savanna Carpenter, of Orma, WV, is the daughter of Chris Carpenter. She is a High Honor Graduate and a member of Mu Alpha Theta. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, and crafting. Following graduation, she plans to attend the LPN program at Roane-Jackson Technical Center. Once she completes the LPN program, she plans to work close to home as an LPN while continuing to work toward becoming a Registered Nurse.


Colin Jones, of Annamoriah, WV, is the son of Josh and Michelle Blair of Annamoriah, WV, and Darrick Jones of Oregon. Following graduation, Colin will be attending the Nascar Technical Institute Welding program in Mooresville, NC.


Owen Grose, of Nebo, WV, is the son of Angela and Richard Grose. He was a student at Calhoun-Gilmer Career Center. He played football, baseball, and basketball while in high school. He is going to work before attending BridgeValley Community and Technical College in the spring of 2024.


Emily Nicole Good, of Grantsville, WV, is the daughter of Jason and Stephanie Good. She has been accepted to West Virginia University, Glenville State University, and Galen College of Nursing in Tennessee. She has been working through her senior year with Calhoun County Committee on Aging. She is excited to pursue a career in nursing as an LPN and experience life outside of Calhoun County.


Brandon Marks, of Mt. Zion, WV, is the son of David and Tina Marks.
Brandon plans on joining the workforce after graduation. He was a member of the
basketball team and wrestling team.


Hope Day, of Big Bend, WV, is the daughter of Chris Day and Jessica Eagle. During high school, she has been a student at the Calhoun-Gilmer Career Center in the culinary lab. Following graduation, she plans to move to Tennessee take a gap year from school and then attend culinary school.


David Boggs, of Orma, WV, is the son of Robert and Natasha Boggs. He has been a member of the varsity baseball team and was selected as the baseball MVP of the 2022 season. Following graduation, David plans to join the workforce.


Cassie Fowler, of Grantsville, WV, is the daughter of Patrick Fowler and Louise Croft. She has been accepted to West Virginia University, Marshall, and Glenville State University. She has been awarded the Go First Scholarship. She has been a member of the varsity cheer and track and field teams. Her academic honors include Moving Onward and Upward and National Spanish Honor Society. In her free time, she likes to relax and hang out with friends. She is excited to see what college brings and is ready to start her new chapter of life!


Calhoun Middle/High School will be holding their Senior Awards Ceremony on May 17th in the CMHS Auditorium. We would like to invite families to celebrate their student beginning at 1:15.

Ariety Hickman, of Orma, WV, is the daughter of Frankie Hickman and Anita Fitch. She has been accepted to Glenville State University. She has been a member of the basketball and track and field teams. Her 5-year plan is to complete college and then find a job in her desired career field.


Caleb Morton, of Rosedale, WV, is the son of Shawn & Emily Adkins and Randy & Cindy Morton. He has been accepted to both Bridge Valley Community & Technical College and Universal Technical Institute in Mooresville, NC. He will be attending Bridge Valley where he will be pursuing his welding certification. He truly enjoys welding, hunting, fishing, and all things outdoors.


Joel Basnett, of Big Springs, WV, is the son of Jeff and Teresa Basnett. He has been a member of the varsity cross country, basketball, and baseball teams. He enjoys sports and being outdoors, especially fishing, hunting, riding, and working. His 5-year plan is to be accepted into the laborers union and hopefully, be able to obtain a job and have a steady life going for him.


Alexis Ann Joseph, of Arnoldsburg, West Virginia, is the daughter of Larry Joseph and granddaughter of Ruth Wears. She has been accepted to Marshall University and plans to major in criminal justice. Go Thundering Herd!! While in school she attended the Calhoun Gilmer Career Center and took law and public safety. After graduating, her goal is to enter the working world and make that money!


UPDATE: One lane is open on Route 16, from the accident near Vaughn Road. Busses are able to pass. We are expecting some delays, but not as much as originally planned.

Due to an accident on Route 16 towards Pleasant Hill near Vaughn Road, busses will be delayed. We are routing buses through alternate routes to get them home. We expect at least a 15 to 20 minute delay.

Keeley Sturms, of Grantsville, WV, is the daughter of Derrick Lamp and Myranda Lamp. She has been accepted to Glenville State University. She plans to major in Criminal Justice. She has earned CPR, and OSHA certifications and also received an OSHA card and Stop the Bleed training. While in school she attended Calhoun Gilmer Career Center and took law and public safety. After she completes college she plans to become a social worker.


Amelia Cain, of Mt. Zion, WV, is the daughter of Theresa and Mike Cain and Eric Blake. Amelia plans to major in cosmetology. Her academic awards include Young Writers winner (9th and 10th), she was Drum Captain, and 2022 Homecoming Queen. She was also a member of Marching Band, Jazz Band, Concert Band, and Student Council. She is artistic, loves music, enjoys writing, and all things beauty. Her 5-year plan is to be working as a make-up artist.
