Calhoun County Schools is now accepting information until Feb 1st, 2023, for students who are home school or private school and would like to participate in the West Virginia General Summative Assessments (WVGSA) for grades 3-8 and Grade 11. The assessments are designed to measure student performance on the state’s content standards, which provide consistent guidelines for what students should know and be able to do at each grade level.
During March, students in grades 3-8 are assessed on writing. At the end of April and the month of May, students in grades 3-8 are assessed in English language arts (ELA) and Mathematics, while students in grades 5 and 8 are also assessed in science. Eleventh-grade students will be taking the SAT by College Board during the month of April.
If you know any home/private schools or students who would benefit from taking these assessments, please share this link with them. It’s a great opportunity to assess their knowledge and skills and help them prepare for the future.
